Ben is an ocean lover with a background in diving, and education.He is passionate about enabling educators and learners to care for, and build their connections with, the natural world through participation in community and citizen science programmes. Ben is a founding member of the NZ Citizen Science Association.

Ben has extensive networks and experience in a diverse range of community and citizen science programmes. He has an energetic communication style and is an enthusiastic and experienced outdoor facilitator of professional development adventures in the great outdoors.​
